The BodyTalk System
“The BodyTalk System is a comprehensive, relatively simple, effective, non-invasive, and safe energy medicine that helps the body rebalance its systems for improved health. It is a unique health care modality in that it addresses the body in a truly integrative, holistic way. The bodymind complex is regarded as functioning as a synchronized unit not as a bundle of autonomously functioning parts. Poor health is an indication that the body’s innate ability to heal and maintain synchronicity within itself is being compromised due to imbalances caused by the stresses from daily living.
Think of an orchestra. It can produce beautiful music only if all the musicians tune their instruments and then coordinate the timing of their playing. The conductor is responsible for ensuring that everyone is playing together harmoniously, to the same pitch and tempo. So it is with the body. Good health can only be achieved when all the body parts and systems functioning properly and then their activities are synchronized. That is the role of the innate wisdom of the body.
In a regular BodyTalk session, the person’s innate wisdom is “consulted” by means of biofeedback, Innate then gives the Certified BodyTalk Practitioner an indication of its priorities in the healing process. Using this information, the practitioner is able to determine which aspects of the body are poorly linked and under-communicating with other parts.” (Excerpt from The BodyTalk Access Training Manual by Sylvia Muiznieks and John Veltheim)
The BodyTalk System was compiled by Dr. John Veltheim as a culmination of his many years in practice of Acupuncture, Chinese Medicine, Chiropractic and Naturopathy. It is truly comprehensive method successful in addressing:
Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
…And Much More!
BodyTalk sessions are performed with the client lying down fully clothed. Some techniques are performed with light touch by the practitioner and/or client.
BodyTalk is not a prescriptive practice, nor are any diagnosis made. It is built on the philosophy of asking the bodymind what it needs to heal, where is there a breakdown in communication and resource? The theory is that if we do not first address these priorities then the bodymind cannot fully support healing and create lasting change in other areas.
